Without a doubt this is my favourite book of this series so far, with A Game of Fate in a very close second (which is book number one from Hades point of view).

“But let me be clear-I am Persephone, future Queen of the Underworld, Lady of Your Fate-may you come to dread my presence. “I am not sure who you think I am,” she said. There are three main storylines happening in tandem during this instalment in the series Zeus deciding whether to agree to let Hades and Persephone get married, Demeter plunging New Greece into a dangerous snow storm, and the ongoing threat of Triad and the Demigods who are getting restless over what they think is the Greek gods tyrannical rule. The series is a steamy retelling of Persephone’s abduction by Hades from Greek Mythology, written in an urban setting called New Greece where the gods play an active role in the lives of the mortals. However, they aren’t major points of the story.A Touch of Malice is the third book from Persephone’s point of view from Scarlett St.

Some elements mentioned in the story could be triggering for some readers so proceed with caution. Clair is a master at pulling you into her world through her plot and characters. All together this book flows along seamlessly and every action has a place in the overall storyline. It ended with a cliff hanger so if you are one of those people who struggle with having to wait for the next book, you may want to hold off. The love scenes remain intact despite the increase in action however there is more vulnerability in this book. There is an interesting dynamic of questioning power throughout the novel that had me thinking long after the last page. It started off a little confusing for me but made sense as the story continued. The classic Gods of old are present in their glory and a new threat looms on the horizon. This third installment in the series was full of conflict and rising tension.

Do they allow the marriage and risk Demeter’s continued wrath or refuse to honor the union and go to war with the God of the Dead? My Thoughts In contempt, Demeter summons a blizzard that threatens all of New Greece and refuses to lift it until the engagement is called off. Hades and Persephone are newly engaged however her mother Demeter is less than pleased. I became so invested in the story of Hades and Persephone along with the mounting action and danger in the storyline that I couldn’t stop! Book Review| A Touch of Malice by Scarlett St.
